The 7 leadership levels of action

The success of managers cannot be explained by different leadership philosophies, personalities or management styles. Rather, it is due to their inner “logic of action” – how managers assess their environment and react when their determination or reliability is required. And yet relatively few managers try to understand their own behavioural logic, let alone change it.

If managers take the time to better understand and learn from their own personality and their own development, they can not only improve their skills, but also positively influence change competence within the organisation.

The seven leadership action levels are all present in us, we just use them differently.

If we want to make a lasting change, we as leaders must reach at least the “individualist”. “Individualists” have recognised that they can only change themselves. They question their own patterns, release obstructive assumptions and behavioural patterns and enable their employees to get moving themselves.
